Oreo renmarki Platnick, 2002 Renmark Oreo

This is the type species for the Oreo genus. The name Oreo comes from the black and white cookie of that name, referring to the black and white pattern on the abdomen. Males differ from other Gallieniellid genera Meedo by having some leg spines, Peeto by lacking cheliceral teeth, and from those of Neato by the shape of the male palp. Carapace light brown with black net pattern, abdomen dark gray with two pairs of side bands extending underneath. The species name is from the Renmark, South Australia, where it was found. ♀ 3.5mm ♂ 3mm
