Mascord in his 1980 field guide shows a male with a body length about 2mm as Dipoena sp. He writes that these spiders prey almost exclusively on small ants in low shrubs and that the scant web is only a few strands. He records the female as being larger, about 3-4mm, having a more globular abdomen and lacking the high carapace of the male.
