This Martus sp. known informally by this temporary common name in honor of its discovery by the naturalist-explorer Dr. Philip Jackson Darlington Jr, is similar to M. mungaich and could even be a sub-species, or the same species, but is larger, males around 6.0 mm in body length. It has been found just below the summit of Bluff Knoll in the eastern Stirling Ranges, Western Australia and nearby Ellen Peak.
