The Rev. O.P. Cambridge in 1869 in his Descriptions and sketches of some new species of Araneidea, with characters of a new genus described this Zodariid as having a deep red-brown cephalothorax, reflecting beautiful violet and dark green in different lights, and an oval shaped abdomen of a deep black reflecting metallic tints of invisible green, having 5 pale markings with yellowish white spots and oblique lines on the side.
