A small ant-mimicking spider with slender legs, extremely swift across the ground in most wooded and semi-arid habitats across inland eastern Australia. This species imitates ants by its general appearance and by waving its front legs in the air as through they were antennae. Simon created the genus in 1896. Rainbow added another species in 1904. There are thought to be many undescribed species which have evaded science due to their small size and speed. Poecilo means pretty. ♀ 3mm
