Sason is a barychelid genus distributed from the Seychelles in the western Indian Ocean to New Guinea and North Queensland. They resemble migids, being small, compact, and stout-legged. Their eyes are usually not on a tubercle and the eye group is rectangular. The retreat in trees consists of a very short tube with a door at each end. The outer surface of the retreat is usually impregnated with particles of soil and leaves. Their distribution suggests the arboreal nest favours its transport as flotsam in ocean currents. Sason colemani is known from a natural swamp in the Botanical Gardens in Cairns and other locations in far north Queensland.
