Maratus splendens (Rainbow 1896)

This close relative of the widely-distributed M. pavonis has been found around Sydney, the NSW central Coast, Hunter Vaslley and Coffs Habour. The bright red color on the upper surface of the carapace and a crescent of iridescent blue to black scales between the rearmost eyes distinguish it from M. pavonis.
