The species name means aggressive, hostile, or pugnacious, referring to the male, but both male and female are dangerous. Bites can be treated with the Sydney Funnelweb antivenom. If someone is bitten apply pressure bandages, immobilise the patient and call an ambulance. ♀ 40 mm ♂ 25 mm
